The Dark Lady

All sources say that Bernard Montorgueil was a pseudonym but none seem to know his actual name. He was one of a number of interesting and enjoyable French artists who depicted female domination and sadism in the early decades of the last century.

His women take pleasure in being cruel, using men and being adored. He ranges from outré perversity to humble affection. It is the latter quality that has made the last drawing below one of my favorite Montorgueil illustrations.
