It seems that some noble lady is riding the King like a horse.
A woman and a man in chains. Is this some sort Renaissance image of nurturing female dominance. Aside from telling you the art is from the 16th century I remain silent.
That certain men derive erotic pleasure by imagining being murdered by beautiful women was a kink that startled me. Years ago I found an obscure site devoted to stories of women who amuse themselves by torturing men to death. In one story Britney Spears killed her male dancers by kicking them in their testicles and groin. Outré and brutal. Hanging from a rope this young may seems to have committed suicide.
Why are the young women amused by his corpse? The answer lies in Gamiani Ou Deux Nuits d’Excès from which the illustration is taken. Alfred de Musset’s story is probably available in an English translation as well. I haven’t bothered investigating Shuna and the Lost Tribe. The novel would’ve been one of the once seemingly inexhaustible clones of H. Rider Haggard’s novels of Ayesha, She Who Must Be Obeyed (I’ve never known anyone who has enjoyr reading Haggard.) She’ll be the White Goddess of some secret civilization and come personal fulfillment by falling in love with some Englishman who talks like Lord Peter Wimsey and knows how to keep lesser races in their place.
Some of you might enjoy one of my other projects. It is a very modest site. Contemporary and vintage photographs, some art of women in leather, corsets, boots. Sometimes models, others just the fetishistic item of clothing. There might be an occasional woman in dominatrix garb but that isn’t the focus. I opened one of Sharon Green’s early fantasy novels. It seemed remindful of John Norman’s Gor series but better. Femal submission without all the silly male supremacist rhetoric. I never opened one of the Jalav books.
The two covers above are by Ken Kelly. Idon’t know the artist of the cover below.
To learn more about Jalav visit:
Early DAW edition of The Well of Shiuan by C.J. Cherryh, a writer of bestselling fantasy fiction. The cover art is by Michael Whelan. (via)
The image of a warrior maiden – Morgaine – was retained for a later edition. We don’t really know if the bound man is enemy or ally.
A British edition shows Morgaine as a fantasy goddess or cult leader with en bowing in worship.
My thanks to Dave for the pointer. This painting of a woman standing over a fallen man was probably the cover of an adventure novel. The art is by Barye Phillips, an invariably attactive paperback cover artist.
I think I saw Angels’ Wild Women and typical of exploitation movies the film didn’t live up to the poster copy.
Sadistic biker chicks isn’t anything I’ve ever fantasized about. Not that I’m anything but open-minded in these matters. I have a real weakness for the man as woman’s puppet theme. This isn’t nearly as entertaining as the illustrations with men dangling from strings.
I post this on the pretext that one of the men is kneeling at her side. (I think they are all authors.)
L’Heure Sexuelle seems to have mocked contemporary decadence. Some kinkiness of sorts I find it difficult to accept at face value the cover copy of these books. The title may be His to Command but it sure looks like she’ll be the one in control.
Of the satyromaniac on the cover Sea of Thighs it says: The more women he conquered, the more he wanted. But he’s kneeling at the thighs of the woman in lingerie who seems to be looking at him with cold contempt.
Not that I’m beyond wilful misreading. The woman who holds the Whip Hand:
I’m the last man who would want to inspire someone to seek revenge but … Damn, that is one long whip she’s holding. The man is in chains and the woman is on top but this is F/m only by an act of the imagination. A once famous cult known as The Children of God published recruitment literature that featured naked young women (their sexual ideology was very unusual but I don’t recall the details).
There was an actual Christian femdom website that I looked at a couple of times. It was notably hilarious. No art. Seems to have vanished or gone underground. And naturally there are Femdom (or female led if you prefer) who speak of themselves as Christians. Elise Sutton is one. How they reconcile that with the words of St. Paul is an example of how people manipulate almost anything to justify their beliefs. Not that I wish them any ill. Painting by Rudi Nappi. I used the paperback book cover this was for on a site years ago. Perhaps has special appeal to men strongly attracted to Asian dominant women.
My guess from the background is that the art is from a movie poster or book cover and the subject is WWII. So the woman holding the riding crop is probably Japanese. Art by Michel Gourdon.
No one can expect a satyr to be very submissive but they probably are lots of fun.
See the thousand and one orgies of torture! I’ve seen the movie – I like old sword and sandal movies – and know it wasn’t remotely so lurid.
No femdom content. But some dominant women enjoy images of men in chains. And male masochists like them as reminders of what makes them tingle. These images and a few that I’ve used this week are from the ondiraiduveau’s buddy icon Femmes Fatales & Bad Girls set on Flickr.
Sort of ‘symbolic.’
Gold digger.
Young tease, temptress.
Tough woman.
Another tough woman.
