So just in case other people were wondering: Le Pere Fouettard seems to be a character that accompanies Saint Nicholas on 6 December and punishes naughty children while Nicholas rewards the good ones. So in fact the joke makes perfect sense in French. (The girl says, Father Flog is sick and won´t be able to accompany you. I am going to act as substitute.)
By the way, is it just me or does she really look like a Matrix character?
Funnily enough, we have a similar tradition here, only Nicholas goes around with a devil. So we could have like, a gay version of the cartoon?
