This image is one of a group of drawings Gene Bilbrew did under the pseudonym Van Rod. They are all of consistent quality. The illustrations appear to tell at least one story. If you know something of their provenance and context I hope you’ll leave a comment.

These are from an extended story Bilbrew did in the early 60s. many of the illoes were reprinted boucoup times in various publications, but the whole story was not reprinted till the 1980s. As you may suspect, it was disappointing.
I’d still really like to see the illustrations reproduced in sequence.
