I wonder if images of Vampirells, the alien vampire from the planet Draculon feed some young men’s fantasies of dominant and sadistic women. (Not that Vampy was.)
Male vampires are currently popular sex symbols, especially with young women. Why not the reverse gender. Vampire as dominatrix seems a naturally unnatural fantasy.
