Two hard drive crashes earlier this year led me to buy a new power supply. The faulty ps must have rendered the CPU or system board marginalized. Mysterian, my PC of six years shut down forever last week.
I managed to cobble together parts to make machine that could boot Linux Mint. But that machine would lock up after ten or fifteen minutes. Bad RAM.
Then I did a terrible thing. I borrowed money from a friend. That enabled me to buy a modest but decent desktop (it will be more satisfactory when I can afford to buy another 4 Gig of RAM).
It took a couple of days to download everything from Evernote to Word that I use to maintain the sites.
This morning I was finally able to go back to work. I’ve named the new PC Galaxy 666.
I still hope to have a modest Linux machine some day. Then I’ll feel safer exploring dangerous sites for art.
